Oh my, blood takes so much work. Most of the time I use stock images. This user - has a lot of good blood stocks. Basically just set it to multiply or overlay. Which ever one looks better in the image. Then I just touch it up with a small brush. A little bit of blending makes brushed blood more realistic. Just make sure you have various different colors in your blood to add to the realism (if that makes sense). As for the dust, I just do that right in Photoshop. Go to filters > render > clouds. Then set to screen and just erase the parts you don't want. Hope that helps! It's all about trial and error.
